Voor het eerst sinds 2015 is Microsoft van plan om Windows 11 officieel aan te kondigen op 24 juni. Ook is het mogelijk dat Microsoft Windows 11 beschikbaar zal stellen als een gratis upgrade voor alle Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8 en Windows 8.1 gebruikers.

Owners of these prior releases with a genuine license can upgrade through Windows Update at no cost. This is based on the configuration keys found within Pkeyconfig (product key configuration package) in the leaked build of Windows 11. The config file suggests that an upgrade path exists for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 users.

Microsoft hasn’t responded to the leak of Windows 11 directly, but a cryptic tweet from the Windows team’s Twitter account suggests that the company is apparently aware of the leak and this may not be our final look.
